Create your rental options for pickup and delivery locations

What Are Rental Options?

Rental options define where and how customers can pick up or receive your rental items. Each rental option represents a pickup location or delivery method that customers can choose when booking.

Why Rental Options Matter

  • Flexibility: Offer multiple pickup locations to reach more customers
  • Convenience: Let customers choose the most convenient option
  • Organization: Assign specific items to specific locations

Creating a Rental Option

Step 1: Navigate to Rental Options

  1. Log in to your Green Gooding dashboard
  2. Click on Rental Options in the sidebar menu
  3. Click the Add Rental Option button

Step 2: Enter Location Details

Fill in the required information:

Option Name

Give your rental option a clear, descriptive name:

  • "Brooklyn Warehouse Pickup"
  • "Manhattan Office"
  • "Queens Storage Unit"

Address Information

Enter the complete address:

  • Street address
  • City
  • State/Province
  • ZIP/Postal code

Additional Details

  • Pickup Instructions: Specific directions for customers (e.g., "Ring buzzer #5", "Park in loading zone")
  • Available Hours: When customers can pick up items
  • Contact Number: Phone number for this location

Step 3: Save Your Rental Option

Click Create or Save to add your rental option. It will now be available when creating or editing product items.

Managing Rental Options

Viewing All Options

From the Rental Options page, you can see:

  • All your active rental options

  1. Find the rental option you want to edit
  2. Click Edit
  3. Update the information

Best Practices

Location Names

Use clear, recognizable names:

  • ✅ "Williamsburg Studio - 123 Bedford Ave"
  • ❌ "Location 1"

Pickup Instructions

Be specific and helpful:

  • Include parking information
  • Mention any access codes or procedures
  • Provide a contact number for issues

Multiple Locations

If you have multiple locations:

  • Keep names consistent
  • Include neighborhood or area in the name
  • Update hours for each location individually

Assigning Items to Locations

When you create product items, you'll select which rental option (location) each item belongs to. This helps you:

  • Track where each item is stored
  • Let customers know where to pick up
  • Manage inventory across locations

See Create a Product Item for more details.

Common Questions

Can I have items at multiple locations?

Yes! Each individual item is assigned to one location, but you can have multiple items of the same product at different locations.

What if I move to a new location?

Edit the rental option with the new address. All items assigned to that option will automatically use the new location.

Can customers request delivery?

If you offer delivery, create a rental option named something like "Delivery" and include your delivery terms and area in the description.
